For qualified teachers of yoga to be able to create and instruct safe, nurturing and effective antenatal and postnatal yoga classes. • To be aware of the changes that occur to the body physically, emotionally and spiritually during each trimester of pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period. • To know which postures and techniques are suitable for each trimester, labour and the postnatal period. • To understand the impact that each trimester of pregnancy has on the entire body and to be able to offer alternative postures as and when required. • To become aware of normal changes and to notice if students are displaying concerning or abnormal symptoms. • To know when to recommend students seek professional medical help or guidance. • To be able to integrate antenatal and postnatal yoga students into an existing group class. • To teach private 1:1 yoga to antenatal and postnatal students. • To lead group antenatal and postnatal yoga classes. • To know where to refer students for current advice and up-to-date information. • To understand the importance of CPD.
