1. Begin to develop an understanding of the needs of disabled people.
2. Understand factors that affect participation.
3. Understand how to create an inclusive triathlon club environment to engage and enthuse disabled people.
4. Apply the STEP and AIM models to facilitating, leading or coaching sessions.
– Visual impairment.
– Hearing impairment.
– Physical condition.
– Cognitive impairment.
– Mental health.
5. Identify factors that impact performance and engagement (environment, cold, heat, wind).
6. Be familiar with how assistive devices, equipment and venues can support inclusive activities and sessions for participants.
7. Understand a variety of ways to effectively communicate with all participants and supporters.
8. Consider how to promote inclusive sessions.
