CanRehab is an award-winning specialist training company delivering only cancer specific courses. The Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation Course has been devised and written by Professor Anna Campbell MBE (CanRehab Director), who specialises in researching the role of exercise in cancer survivorship and is an international expert in this field.
This specialist instructor course is delivered as synchronous online teaching – that is live online (via Zoom) teaching where students are expected to attend every session. The course is 6 teaching days from 9.30AM – 3.30PM. Students are taught by several tutors during the course and by at least two tutors each day, all of whom are considered experts in their field.
The course structure allows formal lectures, videos, small group work, formative assessments, all from the comfort of your own home/office!
In the days in between teaching students will have some home study to do, which would take approximately 1 hour. Students are provided with a CanRehab Reference manual, The CanRehab Learners’ manual and Assessment handout for use during course teaching. Access is also given for 1 year to the CanRehab Learner’s portal (an extensive online library of resources including all the slide presentations) to be used alongside the taught module to enhance self-study. In addition, a private Facebook/WhatsApp group is set up for each course cohort to ensure students are supported right up until the assessments completed.
An assessment day for a MCQ exam paper, a Short Answer Question exam paper and one-to-one “Viva” with an assessor on CanRehab Client studies is scheduled approximately 4 weeks after the final teaching block, and a further case study on a real client should be submitted 4 weeks after that. It may also take approximately 100 hours of independent study for this assessment.
