To provide the learners: • With an outline of the course and how it will be assessed • The course manual To clarify with learners: • What indoor cycling actually is • What it involves • What it looks/feels like To teach the learners: • How to set the bike up for someone else • How to set the scene, through music choice, volume and visualization • How to use pitch and volume of voice to create intensity • How to motivate using music and verbal’s • What is the beat and phrase of the music and how to use this to effectively deliver a class • To choose an appropriate track. • To create choreography to suit this track, working to the beat and phrase of the music. • To practice the delivery of this track, using effective timely teaching points. • Learners to deliver and take part in track demonstration. To teach learners: • Basic bike maintenance to include checking, changing and securing straps. • How to keep the bikes hygienically clean. • How to effectively deal with some common problems eg. Injuries, poor posture etc. • How best to give advice to clients. • How to work within the law with regards to insurance and music licensing. • To summarise day’s learning and give opportunity for questions and feedback
