The module will provide students the understanding and awareness necessary for
working and safeguarding children and young people when working with this population
in a sport and recreational environment. The information provided in the module will
allow coaches and volunteers the information to work with young people in a supervised
and unsupervised position for the protection of the child and the coach/volunteer. Module
content addresses the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical
Education (CIMSPA) Professional Standards for Safeguarding and Protecting Children
and Safeguarding Adults and Adults at Risk.
