The aim of this CPD is to provide a Learn to Swim helper with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to effectively help qualified Swimming Teachers within a swimming lesson programme.
It focuses on the following:
• Identifying the roles and responsibilities of a swimming lesson helper
• Identifying the frameworks within the Learn to Swim Programme
• Identifying the Core Aquatic Skills and Swimming Strokes
• Identifying the key components of a swimming lesson
• Demonstrating appropriate pool safety when helping in swimming lessons
• Demonstrating effective communication skills when helping in swimming lessons

Pre-requisites
- This CPD is aimed at anyone over the age of 14 years wanting to gain experience and / or volunteer in a Learn to Swim programme to then progress on to completing the SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) and beyond.
