The objectives of the qualification are to either: • prepare individuals to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level • prepare individuals requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding • preparing individuals for employment • support a role in the workplace, or • giving individuals personal growth and engagement in learning.

Pre-requisites
- Learners must: • be 16 years of age or older on the first day of the course • hold one of the following: –SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming to Babies and Toddlers–SEQ Level 2 Teaching Pre-School Swimming–SEQ Level 2 Award in Coaching Aquatic Pre-Fundamentals (QCF)–SEQ Level 2 Extended Diploma in Coaching Learn to Swim (Pre Fundamentals) (QCF) • be associated with a recognised Water Babies franchise.
