This CPD provides a refresh of knowledge from that previously gained from the Swim England Safeguarding CPD and reflects Wavepower, Swim England’s child safeguarding policy and procedures publication.
This Refresher gives an overview of what safeguarding and child protection means and how to apply this in the practical situation of a club activity, an update on key legislation in relation to safeguarding, how to recognise types, signs and symptoms of abuse and importantly how to react and respond to an individual who has a concern.
The additional module focusing on Mobile Devices in a Sport Setting is required to complete the Refresher CPD.
The Refresher CPD is relevant for all swimming teachers, coaches and other personnel working within an aquatics environment. It is a mandatory requirement for all Swim England affiliated clubs and forms an integral part of the Club Affiliation process.
In order to complete the refresher CPD all candidates must be 18 years or over and have completed the 3 hour (face to face / online) Swim England Safeguarding CPD within the last 3 years.
