Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development
The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development,
which is 540 GLH, is a qualification for post-16 learners. The qualification is equivalent in size
to 1.5 A Levels, and may be taken as a one-year, full-time programme. It may also be taken
alongside another area of contrasting or complementary study, as part of a two-year,
full-time study programme.
Who is this qualification for?
The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development focuses
primarily on progressing to employment as an assistant coach but could also be taken alongside
other vocational qualifications or A Levels. Complementary qualifications to support career
progression are Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diplomas in Children’s Play, Learning and
Development, Travel and Tourism and Business.
